The Eastern Upper Peninsula Intermediate School District is seeking a highly qualified and enthusiastic English Teacher to join our community of educators in Rudyard, MI. Key Responsibilities
- Instruct students in grades 7-12 in English/Language Arts using the district core curriculum and required state standards for instruction.
- Develop and implement an English/Language Arts education program that incorporates evidence-based instructional strategies, maximizes student participation, and meets the needs and goals of individual learners.
- Utilize formal and informal classroom assessments to promote individual student improvement, guide planning, and drive instruction.
- Provide resources and suggestions to school staff and collaborate with the Principal and District English Professional Learning Community to create, promote, and support improved English/Language Arts achievement.
- Attend professional development meetings and trainings, and collaborate with staff on English/Language Arts related topics as needed to complete duties.
- Participate in meetings outside of normal working hours to ensure the success of our students and programs.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must possess:
- A valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with an English BA endorsement preferred for grades 7-12.
- Multiple endorsements are preferred, demonstrating your versatility and ability to teach a range of subjects.
- Proficiency in the use of technology to access electronic databases, grade books, and email, ensuring you stay connected with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Excellent classroom and student management techniques, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills, enabling you to effectively engage with students, parents, and staff.
- A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with parents and professionals, building strong relationships that support student success.
- A proven ability to implement innovative methods of teaching using offline and online resources, keeping our curriculum fresh and engaging.
