Job Overview
We're seeking an experienced and dedicated NC Pre-K Assistant Teacher to join our team in Morehead City, NC. As a NC Pre-K Assistant Teacher, you'll work closely with our lead teachers to create a positive and engaging learning environment that supports the social, emotional, and cognitive development of our students. This is an immediate opening, and we're looking for someone who is passionate about working with young children and committed to making a difference in their lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage classroom activities while ensuring compliance with NC Division of Child Development and Early Education and the goals and objectives of the current NC Pre-K Curriculum.
- Build and maintain positive, nurturing, and supportive relationships with children and families.
- Plan and implement learning experiences that address physical health and development, social and emotional development, approaches to learning, logic and reasoning skills, language, literacy, mathematics knowledge and skills, science knowledge and skills, creative arts expression, and social studies knowledge and skills.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of the growth and development of assigned children to inform instruction and measure progress toward School Readiness Goals.
- Plan individualized curriculum to meet the specific needs of children, including children with disabilities.
- Follow health and safety procedures for hand washing, toileting, handling bodily fluids, sanitizing toys and equipment, administering medication, serving food, dealing with children's illnesses, and supervising children.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A minimum of an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Experience working with children in a Pre-K setting.
- A strong understanding of child development principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
We're looking for candidates who also possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- NC Pre-K certification or the ability to obtain certification.
- Experience working with children with diverse needs and abilities.
- Knowledge of NC Division of Child Development and Early Education regulations and guidelines.
