About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Central Sterile Technician to join our team on the night shift. As a Central Sterile Tech Nights - LOH, you will play a critical role in ensuring that all instruments, emergency supplies, and equipment meet established quotas, both qualitatively and quantitatively. Your responsibilities will include delivering instruments to surgical suites in a timely manner, decontaminating, disinfecting, testing, adjusting, assembling, and transporting mobile patient equipment, as well as conducting inventories and maintaining the sterile processing of all materials. Key Responsibilities:
- Ensures all instruments and emergency supplies meet established quotas, both qualitatively and quantitatively.
- Delivers instruments to the surgical suites in a timely manner.
- Decontaminates, disinfects, tests, adjusts, assembles, and transports mobile patient equipment.
- Conducts inventories and maintains the sterile processing of all materials.
- Answers telephone calls and responds to requests from internal and external customers.
- Actively participates in a continuous quality improvement process.
- Handles face-to-face interactions with internal and external customers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current certification for Central Service by an accredited agency, such as IAHCSMM or the National Certification for Surgical Technologist.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and perform basic mathematical calculations.
- Basic computer skills.
- Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of specific healthcare products, patient care equipment, surgical instruments, medical terminology, and basic use.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
