Key Responsibilities:

  • Advocate for the safety, well-being, and permanency of Florida's abused, abandoned, and neglected children
  • Conduct thorough investigations and gather evidence to support legal action
  • Prepare and present cases in court, including trials and appeals
  • Collaborate with investigators, case managers, and other stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcomes for children
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in the law and best practices in dependency advocacy
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge

Qualifications:

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must have:

  • A law degree from an accredited institution
  • For senior attorney applicants, a minimum of 2 years of bar admission
  • Excellent communication and advocacy skills
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A strong commitment to advocating for the best interests of children

Preferred Qualifications:

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Experience in dependency proceedings or related areas of law
  • Familiarity with Florida law and procedures

  • A multi-week onboarding program created by trainers certified by the National Institute for Trial Advocacy
  • Quarterly intensive multi-day New Attorney Training conducted by certified trainers
  • Annual multi-day Advanced Litigation Academy conducted by certified trainers
  • Fulfillment of all CLE requirements through webinars and live trainings on topics including case law updates, statutory changes, courtroom skills, evidence, ethics, and legal writing
