Job Summary

We're seeking a Senior Data Scientist with expertise in optimization modeling and process mining to join our team of data scientists, engineers, and application developers. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will work on generating, extracting, and compiling data to perform creative, high-quality, state-of-the-art analyses and evaluations that produce insights, support decision-making, and drive impact within our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and deployment of healthcare-relevant predictive and prescriptive models using machine learning and deep learning techniques.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business problems and develop data-driven solutions.
  • Design, develop, and implement data extraction, management, and analysis processes using data analytics tools.
  • Lead others in the completion of related work and effectively document, develop, and communicate project plans and analytic findings with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Develop and apply computational algorithms and statistical methods to healthcare data, including electronic medical records, financial management, human resources, quality, and supply chain data.
  • Work with cloud-based data and AI solutions, especially in implementation and operationalization of machine learning-based solutions.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications:

  • At least 4 years of experience in a similar role in academia or industry, or PhD + 2 years in a similar role in academia or industry.
  • Graduate degree in Public Health, Health Care Research, Epidemiology, Statistics, Data Science, Health Policy, Economics, Finance, Simulation/Simulation-Based Optimization, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic medical record data, clinical data, claims data, or financial data.
  • Intermediate to advanced development skills with at least one scripting language (Python, R, etc.).
  • Ability to quickly learn new analytic tools and packages.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SQL and data analytics tools.
  • Hands-on experience with a broad range of deep learning tools (e.g., TensorFlow, Spark, Theano, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Keras, Caffe, Nvidia Digits) and collaboration environments (e.g., Jupyter notebooks, PyCharm, gitlab, github).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and strong organizational skills, with an orientation toward detail and collaboration.
