Job Summary
As Senior Manager, UX Writing, you'll play a critical role in shaping the content strategy for Wayfair's retail platforms. You'll lead a team of UX writers, ensuring that our content is clear, concise, and compelling. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams, including UX Research, Engineering, and Product Design, to create seamless digital experiences that delight our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a content strategy that aligns with Wayfair's business goals and customer needs.
- Lead a team of UX writers, providing guidance, mentorship, and feedback to ensure high-quality content.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate content into product development, ensuring a cohesive user experience.
- Create content models and establish a content grid to ensure consistency across all platforms.
- Participate in design and product development discussions, providing input on content and user experience.
- Travel occasionally (less than 10%) for meetings and events to connect with the broader team and stakeholders.
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in UX writing, content strategy, or a related field.
- Portfolio of work that showcases your UX writing skills and experience.
- Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling content for various audiences.
- Experience with content management systems and organizational tools like JIRA.
- Strong understanding of UX principles, including user research, journey mapping, and content hierarchy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in UX writing, content strategy, or a related field.
- Experience leading a team of UX writers or content strategists.
- Familiarity with design systems and content standards.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and collaborative tools like Slack and Asana.
