Key Responsibilities
- Act as an informed authority for TMC (Travel Management Company) business for Alaska Airlines, providing expert guidance and support to internal stakeholders and external clients.
- Build key business relationships with TMC accounts focused on business travel value propositions for Alaska Airlines, identifying opportunities to drive revenue growth and increase market share.
- With minimal direction from authority, exercise extensive judgment to manage the pricing, cost analysis, and negotiations of all TMC agreements, aiming to achieve the highest possible market share and yield in individual markets.
- Collaborate with legal and risk management teams to develop contract-compliant agreements that meet the needs of Alaska Airlines and its clients.
- Analyze revenue, limits, and agreement performance to ensure objective compliance and profitability, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to optimize results.
- Develop marketing-related promotions to support sales efforts, working closely with marketing and business loyalty teams to create targeted campaigns that drive revenue growth.
- Manage the setup of TMC agency accounts through sales calls, negotiating agreements, and coordinating with pricing teams to ensure seamless implementation.
- Plan business growth and lead development of other agency accounts through collaboration with revenue management teams, ensuring that exceptional entries are filed accordingly and driving expected revenue per the specifications of the agreement.
- Monitor reporting and metrics to identify trends and develop a strategy to ensure the organization is positioned appropriately in the market, staying ahead of competitors and capitalizing on emerging opportunities.
- Effectively manage and negotiate time and resources, maximizing revenue opportunities at the most cost-effective rate for Alaska Airlines.
- Prepare and execute a local sales plan in accordance with corporate sales targets, ensuring Alaska Airlines is strategically positioned among its competitors and leveraging its position in the marketplace.
Essential Qualifications
- 2 years of experience in outside sales, with a focus in the retail service environment or related area, preferably in the travel or hospitality industry.
- Bachelor's degree, or two additional years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree, demonstrating a strong foundation in business, marketing, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), with the ability to learn and adapt to new software and systems.
