Key Responsibilities

As a Pharmacy Technician and Data Entry Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, according to state and federal regulations
  • Using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions
  • Assisting with and coaching pharmacy technicians in the operation of pharmacy systems and cashiers in the operation of the pharmacy cash registers
  • Modeling and providing a unique and delightful customer experience
  • Engaging customers and patients by greeting them and providing assistance with services and products
  • Resolving customer issues and answering inquiries to ensure a positive customer experience
  • Developing strong relationships with most valuable customers
  • Performing duties as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, and verifying medication accuracy
  • Assisting pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining work flow
  • Reporting prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhering to company rules and procedures regarding pharmacy errors and the quality improvement program

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following essential and preferred qualifications:

  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico)
  • Preferred: six months of experience in a retail environment
  • Preferred: previous work experience with Walgreens
  • Preferred: desirable math skills to fill prescriptions accurately, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications
  • Preferred: good computer skills
  • Preferred: knowledge of store inventory control
  • Preferred: PTCB certification
