About Texas Global and International Student and Scholar Services
Texas Global is a critical component of UT Austin's internationalization efforts, advancing the university's academic mission by leading, supporting, and coordinating international engagement initiatives. Within Texas Global, the International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) unit plays a vital role in welcoming and supporting international students and scholars, providing a range of programs and services that facilitate their transition to the university community. As an Intercultural Programs Administrative Associate, you will be an integral part of the ISSS team, providing administrative support for international student and scholar programming and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Administrative and Programming Support: Provide administrative support for ISSS programs and events, including international student orientation and signature programs. Ensure accuracy and consistency with data in administrative databases, records, and filing systems.
- Event Planning and Logistics: Support event implementation and logistics, including preparing OOEF forms, reserving event venues, ordering catering, and purchasing supplies. Manage event registration and reservations, and maintain the ISSS programming calendar and attendance tracker.
- Communication: Manage general inboxes and respond to inquiries about ISSS programs and services in a highly professional and culturally sensitive manner. Assist in maintaining website information and contribute content for regular communication to students and scholars.
- Front Desk Operations: Serve as backup for front desk operations, working with front desk staff to maximize efficiency and provide exceptional customer service to international students and scholars.
- ISSS and Texas Global Functions: Actively support the critical priorities and functions of ISSS and Texas Global, serving on internal committees and participating in work groups to support the mission of the organization.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and one year of administrative experience or equivalent education and experience.
- Strong organizational, record-keeping, and documentation skills.
- Successful experience planning and organizing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated adaptability with various office software and platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Intermediate-level skills with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience living or studying abroad.
