About the Role: Key Responsibilities and Expectations

As an Investigative Feature Producer II, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, producing, and delivering feature stories, profiles, investigations, and documentaries from start to finish. Your work will be guided by the principles of journalism ethics and best practices, ensuring that our content is not only engaging but also informative and responsible.

  • Story Conception and Development: Generate, research, and pitch story ideas that will captivate our audience and drive ESPN's market penetration, ratings, viewership, and social media reach.
  • Content Creation: Determine the content, writing style, and storyline of features in collaboration with reporters and senior managers, ensuring that the final product is of the highest quality.
  • Logistics and Production: Arrange and oversee logistics for feature shoots, including equipment and crews, to ensure smooth execution.
  • Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely with reporters on writing outlines and scripts, lead edit sessions to achieve the desired storyline, and direct the work of freelance production personnel and technicians during production.
  • Video Editing: Utilize your video editing skills in the Adobe Suite, specifically Adobe Premiere, to bring your stories to life.
  • Feedback and Mentoring: Present your work for review, embrace feedback, and provide regular feedback and mentoring to junior team members to foster growth and excellence.

Essential Qualifications: The Skills and Experience We're Looking For

  • Education: A High School Diploma is required, although a Bachelor's Degree in Communication Arts, Television Production, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: A minimum of relevant experience in producing feature stories, investigations, and documentaries, with a demonstrated history of visual creativity and story development.
  • Skills: Proficiency in video editing software, particularly Adobe Premiere, and excellent writing, reporting, and storytelling skills.

Compensation and Benefits: A Comprehensive Package

We're offering a competitive salary range of $106,682 - $164,560 per year, depending on your location, experience, and qualifications. In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible for a bonus and/or long-term incentive units as part of our comprehensive compensation package.
