The Infrastructure Sub Group: Cloud Engineering team builds platforms that empower engineering teams at Disney. We work on compute clusters and gateway technologies across multiple geographies with stringent latency, reliability, and uptime requirements. Our team is a specialist multilingual group that sets the standard for how infrastructure is managed through code and simultaneously builds tools and abstractions that help development teams stay focused on delivering an incredible customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable cloud-native solutions with a focus on container technologies, ensuring the creation of robust and performant infrastructure.
- Evaluate and develop compute platform and gateway technologies based on organizational requirements, steering the organization toward their adoption and utilization.
- Set the standard for Infra code organization and design with an eye towards extensibility and future-proofing.
- Establish hardware and performance benchmarks to provide a robust and performant platform.
- Provide guidance to and solve architectural problems that individual functional teams have for their custom use cases.
- Enforce organizational changes by being a champion for quality and consistency, working with various stakeholders to align teams toward a solution.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- At least 3+ years of experience in the container orchestration space, with expertise in Kubernetes and exposure to tools of the cloud-native ecosystem.
- Proficiency in programming using a high-level language, including design principles and writing idiomatic code.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, including managing them at the scale of an organization with multiple teams.
- Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms, specifically with managing multiple accounts and geographies.
- Experience with Networking and Linux, including protocols, sniffing, and network design.
- Experience in writing high-quality documentation, with an emphasis on clarity and concision.
Preferred Qualifications
To stand out in this role, you should have:
- A Tech/B.E/Masters in Computer Science from a reputed school or related technical discipline.
- 4+ years of experience in infrastructure and automation.
- Authority experience in crafting proposals for proposed architectural solutions.
