About the Role

This position is a key part of our 1B First Line Compliance Center of Excellence (Compliance COE), which oversees the operational effectiveness and first-line compliance across our U.S. Consumer Banking, U.S. Commercial Banking, and U.S. COO Group businesses. As a 1st Line Compliance G&C Specialist, you will provide critical support and expertise related to testing schedules, exceptions, and compliance issues arising from 1B QC testing results. This role is perfect for someone who is detail-oriented, has a strong understanding of compliance regulations, and is adept at analyzing complex data to drive business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide compliance support and expertise for testing schedules, exceptions, and compliance issues related to 1B QC testing results.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks.
  • Develop and implement effective solutions to complex compliance problems.
  • Analyze data and trends to inform business decisions and improve compliance processes.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging regulatory trends and industry best practices.
  • Lead or participate in projects aimed at enhancing compliance controls and procedures.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, both verbally and in writing.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An undergraduate degree in a relevant field (preferred).
  • At least 7 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or a related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of governance, risk, and control procedures, strategies, and tactics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and functions.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and industry-standard software applications.
  • The ability to work in a hybrid environment, splitting time between remote work and our Charlotte, North Carolina office.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications can make you a more competitive candidate:

  • A deep understanding of various consumer regulations.
  • Familiarity with MERLIN (or other Archer systems).
  • Experience in a similar compliance or risk management role within a financial institution.
