Job Overview

We are currently seeking a dynamic and results-driven Admissions Specialist to work remotely with our team. As an Admissions Specialist, you will play a critical role in facilitating the admission and registration of patients into our facility, maintaining communication with patient referrals and families, and ensuring a seamless transition into our care. Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate admissions and assessment processes for incoming patients, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition into our care
  • Respond to inquiries about our facility in a timely and professional manner, providing accurate and helpful information to patients, families, and referral sources
  • Schedule and complete pre-admission assessments, communicating recommendations to patients or their families and collaborating with other facility medical and psychiatric personnel as needed
  • Coordinate admission and transfer between levels of care within our facility, ensuring that patients receive the most appropriate and effective treatment
  • Communicate projected admissions to designated internal representatives in a timely manner, ensuring that all necessary preparations are made for incoming patients
  • Perform insurance benefit verifications, disseminating the information gathered to patients, their families, and other appropriate facility staff
  • Ensure that all medical admission documentation is gathered from external sources prior to patient admission, securing initial pre-authorization for treatment and admission as needed
  • Assist individual therapists with concurrent reviews with insurance companies, securing continued treatment and collaborating with multi-disciplinary treatment teams as necessary
  • Provide accurate and ongoing assessment of patient status in the admissions process, communicating treatment recommendations to and coordinating with other treatment teams

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:

  • A minimum of four years of experience in sales, call center setting, and insurance, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service and driving results
  • A Bachelor's degree in behavioral science, Social Work, Vocational Rehabilitation, Sociology, Public Administration, or a related field; in some states, may also be a registered nurse, in which case, an associate's degree in nursing may be the minimum educational requirement or a licensed practical or vocational nurse, in which case, successful completion of an LPN or LVN training program may be the minimum requirement
  • A minimum of one year of experience working with individuals in a clinical or observational capacity, preferably within the area of specialty for our facility

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset:

  • A Master's degree in a therapeutic field, with a strong understanding of behavioral healthcare principles and practices
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with patients, families, and referral sources
