About the Role and Why You'll Love It
This position is a member of the People Partner Group within the People Division, responsible for contributing to American Airlines' success through consulting, identifying, and delivering individual (Human Resource) services and solutions that will result in improved business capability and performance/individual engagement. As an experienced Human Resources Manager, you will play a vital role in driving business outcomes, fostering a culture of inclusivity and diversity, and developing the skills of our leaders and employees.

Key Responsibilities and Expectations
- Builds and leverages relationships at all levels in the organization, informing and assisting others while being seen as a valued, trusted, and reliable colleague
- Acts as a trusted advisor to client leaders, helping them to achieve their business and functional plans
- Collaborates with business leaders to lead and execute all annual people drives for the organization
- Provides strategic guidance to clients to implement solutions for employee relations issues and trends
- Communicates with business and Colleague Experience group regarding disciplinary and termination workflows
- Implements achievement measures to coach leaders to be proactive in employee relations and avoid conservative situations
- Identifies and capitalizes on opportunities to drive and lead change
- Fosters a culture that is diverse and inclusive, aligned with the essential objectives of the organization, team building, organizational development, engagement, and accountability
- Works with effective change management initiatives
- Develops and leads team development/team building processes both proactively and, when necessary, to improve team performance
- Proactively attempts to support our leaders with talent drives, leadership development programs, and improving colleague performance engagement
- Presents options to leaders on organizational design, jobs, and responsibilities, employee development, and more
- Identifies and delivers training, both compliance and leadership, to client workgroups
- Identifies business environment needs based on changing regulations, government rules, policies, and procedures and implements solutions
- Creates and mentors employees across specialty units and within individual Office
Essential Qualifications and Requirements
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience/training
- At least 4 years of HR experience
- 3 years of experience in managing employee relations
- 2 years of staff management/executive experience or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications and Requirements
While not essential, the following qualifications and requirements are preferred:
- Familiarity with state and federal employment laws, including but not limited to; FMLA, ADA, FLSA, NLRB, Title VII, and more
- Experience in providing guidance and advice to executive leaders
- PHR/SPHR certification
Skills, Licenses, and Certifications
To excel in this role, you'll need:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and more
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills
- Strong drive and sound judgment capabilities/abilities
- Skills in problem-solving and navigation
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations in a professional and dignified manner
- Ability to work independently and be highly self-motivated
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and produce results
