Job Overview and Responsibilities

In this exciting role, you'll be the face of American Airlines, providing top-notch customer service to our valued customers from the comfort of your own home. As a remote customer service representative, you'll be responsible for ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for our customers at every touchpoint. Your duties will include:

  • Offering consistently excellent customer service, addressing customer inquiries, and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner
  • Performing various airport-related tasks, including check-in, gates, transfer, arrival, baggage services, and ticketing (ATAC)
  • Working closely with the team leader responsible for the flight/work areas/shift, taking instructions, and contributing to the daily operation
  • Conducting relevant administrative tasks, such as ATAC, pre-flight, and post-flight departure
  • Representing American Airlines by adhering to uniform standards and adopting a customer-centric approach at all times
  • Promoting and selling American Airlines services and products to our customers
  • Attending and completing all required training by given deadlines
  • Adhering to and promoting safe working practices at all times
  • Performing other reasonable duties consistent with the post

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To succeed in this role, you'll need to possess:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues
  • A solution-oriented approach, with the ability to resolve conflicts professionally within time constraints
  • The ability to handle a stressful environment effectively and work with minimal supervision
  • A strong customer focus and enjoy face-to-face contact with customers (although this role is remote, you'll be interacting with customers via phone, email, or chat)
  • The ability to be a representative of the company at all times, maintaining a professional and well-groomed appearance
  • The capacity and willingness to work in a shift environment, including weekends, bank, and public holidays
  • Reliability and punctuality, with a strong commitment to adhering to all American Airlines policies and procedures
  • The ability to communicate both written and verbally to a high standard
  • A valid BAA airside pass (or willingness to obtain one)
  • GSAT training (or willingness to complete)
  • The willingness and ability to effectively complete all relevant training
  • A valid DVLA driving license (or willingness to obtain a BAA driving license as required)

Desired Qualifications and Education

While not essential, the following qualifications and skills are desirable:

  • Computer knowledge, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
  • Previous customer service experience, particularly in the aviation or travel industry
  • Knowledge of American Airlines policies, procedures, and systems
