Job Overview and Responsibilities
In this role, you will be part of our Information Technology Group, responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our IT infrastructure, including cloud-based systems and applications. Your expertise will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of our systems, enabling us to deliver exceptional service to our customers. As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will:
- Design and implement conventional and cloud-based infrastructure solutions based on plans from framework architects
- Provide in-depth knowledge of concepts related to server load balancing, WAS clustering, and other application scaling concepts
- Investigate and resolve middleware issues across development, testing, and production environments
- Proactively monitor local and remote data center operations and equipment, including UPSs, air conditioning, power, office security systems, and all data center processes and procedures
- Foster a culture of sharing and collaboration among the team, promoting open communication and knowledge sharing
- Stay up-to-date with systems technology best practices and evolving technologies, maintaining expertise and suggesting improvements or changes
- Support communication and response processes by responding to clients on system issues, maintenance, and system status, and advising and escalating on any delayed or significant issues
- Manage and maintain Windows Active Directory, including DNS and Group Policies
- Provide guidance to lower-level technicians and assist when and where necessary
- Travel as required, with a rotational schedule for on-call off-hours support
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training
- At least 2 years of experience as a network or system administrator or engineer
- Preferred qualifications include 2+ years of experience as a network or system administrator or engineer, with advanced knowledge of IT business operations, systems requirements, and processes
- Skills and certifications in areas such as server administration, cloud technologies, DevOps, containerization, and monitoring tools are highly desirable
