Job Summary

As a Senior Quality Engineer on our Card Payment Solutions team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our payment solutions. You will work closely with a team of engineers and developers to design, test, and implement payment solutions that meet the highest standards of quality and security.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Performing technology partner EMV card personalization level validation/testing for assigned projects to ensure data design accuracy per relevant specifications and defined scope during the accreditation process
  • Identifying, investigating, and resolving complex processing, application usage, or business issues
  • Escalating chip card issues to internal Systems Architects, Product Development, Product Management, and Operations teams and managing issue resolution
  • Conducting analysis to diagnose and resolve EMV card personalization issues in both test and production environments
  • Presenting new technologies, industry trends, or best practices to stakeholders and the broader organization; sharing learnings and insights
  • Playing an active role in mentoring and coaching other engineers

Key Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with a team of 6-8 engineers to design, test, and implement payment solutions
  • Developing and executing test plans to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Analyzing and resolving complex technical issues related to payment solutions
  • Communicating technical information to non-technical stakeholders

Additional Responsibilities

In addition to your core responsibilities, you may also be asked to:

  • Participate in project planning and estimation
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies

Requirements and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of the EMV smart card industry, certification, and implementation cycles, or experience as a integration specialist, engineer, or certification role in the payment industry
  • Experience with EMV card test tools like Barnes, OPV
  • Experience with at least one programming language, such as Java or C++
  • Proven experience in project and program management in a complex, distributed environment
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

We would also like to see:

  • A Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience with multiple programming languages
  • Certification in a relevant industry, such as payment processing or software development
  • Experience with agile development methodologies
