Job Summary
We're looking for an Appian Frontend Development Lead to oversee the development efforts across different departments, ensuring timely and efficient feature rollouts. As a seasoned expert in Appian, you'll provide guidance on product configuration, mapping of requirements and rulesets to Appian objects and process flow, design review, performance testing, scaling, and industry-specific knowledge. You'll lead a team of Appian Consultants, ensuring timely delivery of project-related tasks and providing technical mentorship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert leadership and guidance on projects, including enterprise application architecture, design review, technical mentorship, and industry-specific knowledge
- Oversee and guide both problem analysis and technical solution implementation through final testing and knowledge transfer
- Lead a team of Appian Consultants and ensure timely delivery of project-related tasks
- Design, create high-level solutions, and implement solutions for customers by understanding their requirements and driving them with the development team
- Review and guide project teams in Appian BPM Solution design, Process modeling, Solution development, System and Application integration approaches, Deployment, and Optimization
- Develop components and artifacts in Appian Solution design, Process modeling, Solution development, System and Application Integration approaches, Deployment, and Optimization
- Liaise with customers to collect, clarify, analyze, and translate business requirements into technical design and implementation
- Produce rulesets, configurations, process workflows, and technical solutions for development and support requirement gatherings sessions
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to develop a deep and thorough understanding of the client enterprise while leading large, multi-year program initiatives
- Create and maintain business process and technical documentation, including workflows, architecture diagrams, interface diagrams, and design best practices
- Participate in meetings with clients, business analysis teams, and internal technical and operational teams
Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with 5-8 years (or commensurate experience)
- 3+ years of experience in IT with responsibilities in one or more of the areas - Application Development, Business process management, and/or Enterprise Application Integration (SOA) with Appian or other BPM tools
- 3+ years of experience in defining and documenting architecture for technology implementations leveraging different architectural views
- 3+ years of experience in Enterprise Application integration (SOA, ESB) and n-tier client-server architectures
- 3+ years of experience in all phases of software development for large-scale business-critical applications following Agile methodologies
- 3+ years of Business Architecture experience, including identifying and decomposing business capabilities
- 3+ years of Business process modeling and optimization experience
- 3+ years of recent hands-on experience with Appian
- 3+ years of experience developing Appian Plugin
- 3+ years of working knowledge of Application Servers like JBoss, Weblogic, IIS, Tomcat, etc.
- Excellent analytical and technical skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation
- Must be able to work with business users and business analysis teams to gather and refine requirements
- Must have excellent oral and written communications skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of recent work experience on a software development project in a federal government setting
- Certified Level 3 Appian Developer
- Exposure to common industry platforms and programming languages - Appian BPM, IBM WebSphere, Mule, LAMP/JBOSS, HADOOP, Java, Microsoft/.Net
- Experience working with Appian Sites
- 3+ years of experience with Agile Framework
- Orchestration of modeled process through a Workflow application
- Ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations
- Ability to translate business needs into solution architecture requirements
