As a SoC Physical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for executing total chip design from netlist to tapeout. You will work closely with the FE team to understand chip engineering and drive physical aspects from the get-go in the design cycle. You will also work with the physical design team to drive methodologies and "best-in-class" techniques to streamline physical design work, develop rules and agendas, drive execution, and track progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute total chip design from netlist to tapeout, including floorplanning, clock and power delivery, global signal preparation, I/O planning, and hard IP integration
- Work with the FE team to understand chip engineering and drive physical aspects from the get-go in the design cycle
- Work with the physical design team to drive methodologies and "best-in-class" techniques to streamline physical design work, develop rules and agendas, drive execution, and track progress
- Be a point of contact for spot and route, drive the work among spot and route designers, set goals and milestones, plan short and long-term work, and understand dependencies between various domains like top, STA, block spot, and route
- Resolve design and flow issues connected with physical design, identify potential solutions, and drive execution
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 2+ years of relevant industry experience in SoC physical design
- Knowledge of ASIC integration, including floorplanning, clock and power delivery, global signal preparation, I/O planning, and hard IP integration
