Job Overview
This Engineering Lead position is a full-time role that involves working with various internal and external production teams to provide engineering support for a range of recorded, live, and broadcast events. As a technical lead, you will be responsible for engineering systems management, video capture and display technology, advanced signal streaming, emerging technology, IP infrastructure, and equipment maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership for the office, collaborating with dramatic management, subject matter experts, and content partners.
- Control, maintain, and inventory all General Media, Organization, and Communication systems and related equipment.
- Stay current with technological advancements in the video, display, and broadcast fields by attending industry conferences regularly.
- Adhere to Apple's high production standards and codes of moral conduct.
- Work well under pressure, maintaining calm and integrity.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- 2+ years of experience as a transmission, video, or office engineer in production environments (e.g., studios, broadcasters, broadcast trucks, or post-production facilities).
- Experience with various gear, including but not limited to: Multidyne, AJA, Envision Switch, Barco E2, EVS, Christie and Dolby Projection, Clearcom Free Speak II, and RTS radio systems.
- Active involvement in content production and post-production workflows, including knowledge of common recording and playback solutions and standards.
- Working knowledge of fiber send and receive in 4K, 2SI, and 1080p workflows.
- Experience with HDR production, including S-Log3, HLG, and PQ workflows.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of cutting-edge system design with the ability to create line drawings and documentation.
- Experience integrating Apple technologies into SDI production.
- Working knowledge or involvement in film-style production.
- Profoundly capable in identifying and resolving functional shortcomings, with strong experience in signal routing, monitoring, and quality assurance.
- Balanced production experience with the ability to aid in various areas (e.g., related experience as a sound specialist, lighting professional, camera operator, editor, or other production roles).
