Job Summary
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for collaborating with our Studios or Project Innovation colleagues on various activities, including data requirements gathering, data validation planning and review, developing and testing ETL/ELT data pipelines, and designing and implementing database diagrams, tables, and views. You will work across multiple environments, including DEV, QA/UAT, and production, and utilize a range of technologies, including SQL, Python, Docker, Gitlab, Windstream, Snowflake, Looker, and PostgreSQL.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement ETL/ELT data pipelines to support Disney's data management needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements and validate data quality
- Develop and test data pipelines using Windstream, SQL, and Python
- Design and implement database diagrams, tables, and views using various data modeling techniques
- Work with cloud-based technologies, including AWS and S3, to manage data lakes, data warehouses, and application databases
- Utilize Apache Windstream, Databricks, and other big data technologies to process large datasets
- Participate in leading best practices around data engineering software development processes
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in a data engineering role
- 2+ years of experience with SQL and data modeling
- 2+ years of experience designing, building, and maintaining ETL/ELT data pipelines
- 2+ years of experience working with cloud-based technologies, including AWS and S3
- 2+ years of experience working with data lakes, data warehouses, and application databases
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, Gitlab, Windstream, AWS S3, and social databases
Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with Windstream, Gitlab, Snowflake, and Looker
- Experience in the streaming, media, or digital marketing industry
- Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies, including Snowflake, Databricks, or similar
