About the Role: Customer Advocate Phone Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Customer Advocate Phone Specialist to join our team on a full-time, remote basis within the state of Arizona. As a Customer Service Representative, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional inbound phone support to our healthcare customers, addressing their inquiries, and resolving their concerns with empathy and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, research, process, resolve, and respond to customer inquiries via telephone and written correspondence, ensuring timely and accurate resolution of issues.
- Provide clear and concise information to customers regarding contract benefits, changes in coverage, eligibility, claims, BCBSAZ programs, and provider networks.
- Navigate multiple system applications to gather, input, and maintain data records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Collaborate with internal departments, external plans, providers, businesses, and government agencies to obtain information and ensure resolution of customer inquiries.
- Document and record facts related to inquiries and correspondence by updating BCBSAZ files and systems.
- Demonstrate and maintain current working knowledge of BCBSAZ systems, procedures, forms, and manuals.
Requirements and Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you must possess:
- At least one (1) year of experience in claims examination, health insurance, customer service, call center, medical office, or other healthcare-related field.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Intermediate PC proficiency, with ability to navigate multiple system applications.
- Excellent interpersonal and active listening skills, with ability to achieve high customer satisfaction.
- Strong composition and dictation skills, with ability to create a variety of business correspondence.
- Ability to interpret and translate policies, procedures, programs, and guidelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to establish and maintain working relationships in a collaborative team environment.
