As a Career Ambassador, HR Specialist, Performance Management, you will play a critical role in supporting our diverse population of Amazonians across all business lines as they navigate Amazon's Pivot processes. You will be responsible for driving success through your expertise in HR, employee relations, and performance management, and for continuously improving the Amazonian experience through collaborative opportunities.
This role is India-based, supporting primarily the APJC region, and requires a strong and diverse skillset in relevant areas. As a hybrid role, you will have the flexibility to work remotely and spend time in our office, allowing you to balance your work and personal life.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute cases at all stages of the Pivot cycle, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Facilitate the appeal process independently, including the compilation of appeal documents and providing guidance to stakeholders.
- Facilitate career and performance conversations to provide information, facilitate decisions, and mediate conflicting perspectives, advising without directing and allowing others to realize their own answers and solutions.
- Serve as an escalation point for managers and HRBPs, managing difficult conversations with multiple levels within the organization and providing expert guidance and support.
- Respond quickly and accurately to questions from customers, team, and internal business partners, providing timely and effective support.
- Collaborate with team members in ongoing process improvements to meet business objectives, driving continuous improvement and excellence.
- Record and maintain case data, ensuring quality through regular audits, and collect data and pull reports from HR tools to inform business decisions.
- Prioritize multiple inputs in a complex, fast-paced environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
- Build and own trusting relationships with employees and key business and HR partners stakeholders in the region, driving collaboration and business outcomes.
- Provide recommendations to proactively address systemic defects, driving continuous improvement and excellence.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in business, HR, or a related field, demonstrating a strong foundation in HR principles and practices.
- 5-7 years of overall work experience, with a minimum of 4 years of experience in HR, employee relations, or similar fields, demonstrating a strong track record of success in HR.
- The ability to manage confidential and sensitive employee information and adhere to strict confidentiality standards, demonstrating a high level of professionalism and integrity.
- A solutions-focused mindset and the ability to work in an environment that demands strong deliverables, demonstrating a results-oriented approach.
- Proven ability to handle confidential information and escalate issues when appropriate, demonstrating a high level of judgment and decision-making.
- Experience managing sensitive and confidential matters with employees and/or stakeholders that are not in your reporting line, demonstrating a high level of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the essential qualifications, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset:
- Experience working with corporate workforce, demonstrating an understanding of the complexities of a large organization.
- Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, demonstrating a strong foundation in HR technology.
- Knowledge of employment law and other federal and state laws covering discrimination and equal opportunities, demonstrating a strong understanding of HR compliance.
- Knowledge of HR systems and solutions, demonstrating a strong foundation in HR technology and systems.
- The ability to successfully influence stakeholders without formal authority, across geographies and business units, demonstrating a high level of interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Experience working in highly confidential environment, demonstrating a high level of professionalism and integrity.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating a high level of communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills, demonstrating a high level of productivity and efficiency.
