About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Data Science and Operations Research Intern to join our IT team as part of our Summer 2024 program. As an IT - Operations Research - Data Science intern, you will play a crucial role in analyzing airline data, building models to predict behaviors, and recommending airline actions. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze airline data from various sources and perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends and insights.
• Develop Python scripts and build models to predict behaviors and recommend airline actions.
• Work independently and collaboratively as part of a team to drive projects forward.
• Present findings and recommendations to Operations Research and Business leaders at the end of the summer program.
• Demonstrate a strong work ethic and ability to work under tight deadlines.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should possess the following essential qualifications:

• A minimum 3.0 GPA and completion of at least 2 years in a college program with a degree emphasis in Data Science, Data Analytics/Operations Research, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Strong analytical, leadership, written, and verbal communication skills.
• A commitment to prioritizing the health and safety of yourself and others.
• An interest in solving complex problems and contributing to overcoming obstacles.
• A willingness to consider full-time employment with Delta after graduation if an offer is extended.

Preferred Qualifications

• The ability to process large amounts of data and information, and quickly make sense of what can be learned from the data and how it can support independent decision-making.
• A desire to learn leadership techniques and best practices in problem-solving and compromise to enable innovation and progress on challenging client issues.
• Experience with AWS (Amazon Web Services).
• Experience creating AI models.
