Target is seeking an experienced Trend and Concept Designer to join our Owned Brand Product Design & Packaging (OBPDP) team as part of our FUN 101 division, focusing on hardlines categories such as Consumer Electronics, Sporting Goods, Travel, and Toys.

As a Trend and Concept Designer within this team, you'll have the opportunity to work on exciting projects that drive business growth and differentiation in the market.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and present visually compelling trend materials and brand concepts that meet the intent for style, quality, performance, and value, utilizing both internal and external trend reporting services to inform macro trends and concepts.
- Maintain an always-on approach to market trend research, incorporating a balance of "art & science" to ensure a balance of data and intuition, and stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, cultural events, and social media.
- Demonstrate an understanding of divisional strategic initiatives and proactively work to implement supporting solutions in partnership with cross-functional teams and vendors, while leading the conversation regarding owned brand concepts and trend.
- Survey the competitive landscape to impact the development of best-in-class products, helping to guide strategy and identify opportunities for new products, variations, and ideas.
- Develop guest empathy by understanding the overall Target guest, the core guest within the product/brand/category, and create designs that cater to their needs.
- Own multiple projects, develop and adhere to schedules, prioritize workload, and work in a fast-paced, challenging, and continually evolving environment.
- Coach and develop associate designers and team members, sharing your expertise and experience to help them grow professionally.
About You
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A 4-year college degree in Design (industrial, architecture, fashion, graphic design) or equivalent experience.
- 4-6 years of relevant trend, concept, or design experience, with retail experience being a plus.
- Familiarity with the trend industry and resources, with the ability to track and incorporate new resources across the trend industry, cultural events, social media, etc.
- Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and project management skills.
- A demonstrated ability to synthesize trend information into clear, compelling, and influential visual materials to inform innovation and product development direction for divisions, brands, assortments, and seasonal storytelling.
- A strong strategic and interdisciplinary mindset, with a passion for design, technology, culture, and brand building.
- The ability to help push retail brands forward to lead and differentiate within the market, with a strong commercial design and color sensibility.
- Self-motivation, accountability, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- The ability to navigate ambiguity and thrive, demonstrating a can-do attitude.
- Skilled at building strong relationships and effectively collaborating in a team environment.
- Working knowledge of product manufacturing in both hard and soft goods.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Programs.
- Ability to travel as needed.

Work Arrangement
This position may be considered for a remote or hybrid work arrangement, based on Target's needs. As a remote team member, you'll work full-time from home or an alternate location, with the possibility of traveling to HQ up to 4 times a year. As a hybrid team member, your core role may be performed either remotely or onsite at a Target location, depending on the requirements of your role, team, and tasks.
