As a Director Communications, Content, you will be an integral part of this team, working closely with creatives, platform teams, and other stakeholders to craft compelling stories that drive traffic, sales, and guest loyalty.
Key Responsibilities
- Co-Lead the Content Team: Develop best-in-class content talent, lead talent development routines, and participate in pyramid routines to ensure coaching and development, training, and growth.
- Drive Content Strategy and Execution: Bring business-led and audience-led content to life, oversee contractors and their work, and ensure alignment with Target's needs and expectations.
- Ensure Quality Content: Edit content managers' and contractors' work, develop high-visibility content, and set and enforce quality standards for content produced.
- Collaborate Across Communications Leadership Team: Own storytelling strategy, health, and evolution of content across owned channels, partner with other directors to foster collaboration, and maintain a sharp knowledge of content and media trends.
- Analyze Audience Insights: Foster conversation and team actions that keep Target's content evolving, and drive content team to strategize and execute.
Essential Qualifications
- College Degree or Equivalent Experience: A strong educational foundation or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
- Minimum 10 Years of Relevant Corporate Communications Experience: Expertise across digital storytelling channels, including email, web, and social media, with the ability to influence channel selection based on content and storytelling objectives.
- Progressive Leadership Experience: 3+ years of experience building and developing a diverse team of functional experts, specifically in editorial, content, and/or communications.
- Ability to Manage Ambiguity: Facilitate meetings with senior leaders, resolve conflict, build consensus, establish rapport, and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Content Strategy and Governance: Knowledge of corporate site content strategy, press release process, internal email channels, and social media accounts.
- Strong Understanding of Content and Media Trends: Ability to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in content and media, and apply this knowledge to drive Target's storytelling capabilities.

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits
Target offers a competitive compensation package, with a salary range of $125,600 - $226,100.
