About the Creative Strategy and Integration Team

The Creative Strategy and Integration team is a vital part of ESPN Creative Studio's Visual Storytelling division. We're responsible for crafting compelling narratives across digital, streaming, broadcast, and marketing platforms. Our team is passionate about pushing the boundaries of storytelling and exploring new ways to engage audiences. As Director, Creative Strategy and Integration, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our creative direction and ensuring seamless integration across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • UX Research Leadership: Own all UX research initiatives for marketing, linear, digital, and web/app, presenting findings to stakeholders and informing creative decisions.
  • Performance Analysis: Participate in performance report-outs in the marketing space to deeply understand performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
  • Case Studies and Discovery: Identify opportunities for case studies and bring VS teams together to discuss process and findings, driving innovation and best practices.
  • Culture Change and Collaboration: Be a vocal enthusiast of culture change, leading with optimism and working across teams to set priorities and drive results.
  • Disney Partnerships: Work closely with Disney partners to ensure artwork is optimized for various platforms and content, driving cohesive brand experiences.
  • Vendor Management: Own relationships with external design production vendors, including supporting onboarding, invoicing, and day-to-day projects.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • UX Research Experience: Demonstrated experience with user research, running tests, gathering and presenting data to inform creative decisions.
  • Digital Media Expertise: 10 years of experience in digital media, including at least 4 years in people management, with a deep understanding of the industry and its trends.
  • Strategic Analysis: Ability to analyze complex data and make strategic recommendations based on evolving priorities.
  • Presentation and Communication: Very comfortable running large-scale meetings, creating and delivering presentations to various stakeholders.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt easily to change and lead by example, driving a culture of innovation and experimentation.
  • Vendor Management: Experience working with production vendors, including DCO, and managing day-to-day projects.

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge:

  • Metrics and Discovery: Demonstrated ability to present and discuss metrics and discovery in a clear and accessible way, driving data-driven decision-making.
  • Digital Marketing Experience: Experience in digital marketing, particularly setting campaign priorities and optimizing creative assets.
  • Performance Metrics: Understanding of performance metrics and creative research, with the ability to analyze and interpret complex data.
  • Project Management Tools: Deep experience with a variety of project management and analytics tools, driving efficiency and productivity.

Education and Location

A high school degree or equivalent is required, while a Bachelor's degree in communication, journalism, or a related field is preferred. While we prefer this role to be based in NYC, we may consider remote candidates.

Compensation and Benefits

The hiring range for this position in NYC is $141,450 to $189,750 per year, while the remote hiring range is $128,576 to $218,460 per year. The base pay offered will take into account internal equity, geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
