Key Responsibilities
- Lead a talented team of costumers to deliver exceptional guest experiences, ensuring a consistent product and high level of customer service.
- Provide daily leadership, coaching, and mentoring to team members, including ensuring accurate training and role clarity.
- Monitor and analyze costume inventory, show quality, and expenses to meet annual financial targets, utilizing programs like SAP, Maximo, and YuniquePLM.
- Foster strong collaborations and support business requests in a dynamic environment, ensuring division and segment strategies are followed.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and processes within Disney Live Entertainment (DLE) Costuming, driving innovation and excellence.
- Develop and implement process guides and operating procedures to enhance team performance.
- Drive guest service excellence in a cast-serving-cast environment by introducing new ideas and initiatives.
- Participate in annual budget planning and lead replenishment planning sessions for costume production and replenishment.
- Prepare cost estimates and manage project functions, partnering with operational costuming areas for procurement and disposition of entertainment costumes.
- Establish and maintain partnerships that support the implementation of new products and services.
Essential Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a leadership role with direct and indirect reports.
- 3+ years of experience in costuming, theater, garment manufacturing, fashion, or a related field.
- Experience in garment construction and performing fittings.
- Proven track record of mentoring and providing re-direction to salaried and hourly cast members.
- Conflict resolution and consensus-building skills, with the ability to make all partners feel heard and understood.
- Experience building a network of internal and external partners.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to interact with all levels of partners.
- Experience working with collective bargaining agreements and unionized cast members.
- Flexible availability, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Ability to travel between work locations and domestically/internationally (up to 30% and 20% respectively).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with purchasing software like Maximo, GUS, and Yunique PLM.
- Background in textiles or the apparel industry.
- Experience working on a cruise ship for the installation of new entertainment offerings.
- Knowledge of international shipping processes and global sourcing.
- Experience with garment specification or technical specification writing.
