This role is an integral part of our Payments and Digital Strategy team at blithequark Credit Union. As a Member Services Representative, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to check processing, item processing, direct bills, and fund transfers. Key Responsibilities

  • Complete data entry and balancing tasks with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Coordinate return items with members, vendors, the Federal Reserve Bank, and other institutions
  • Assist other departments with fraud resolution, member inquiries, and related Accounting standard ledger balancing
  • Work member cases/sports assigned and follow up with members as needed
  • Follow and maintain guidelines and procedures to ensure strict compliance with NACHA regulations and guidelines and Federal Banking laws
  • Process loan payments, multi-account and member deposits, credit card payments, and other checks, including IRA, bankruptcy, and payoff checks
  • Review, examine, and approve Remote Deposit, Mobile, ATM, and other imaged-enabled products
  • Log, report, and make necessary GL, account changes and/or returns
  • Process Stop Pays and Check Batching
  • Complete daily balancing and department closing tasks
  • Obtain information from members for the timely and accurate processing of international and domestic fund transfer requests
  • Research and confirm incoming and outgoing fund transfer information
  • Communicate with vendors to process fund transfers
  • Understand and be familiar with outgoing and incoming fund transfer laws and regulations

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a high school diploma or GED, as well as intermediate Excel and Word skills. Previous customer/member service experience, banking or Credit Union experience, and knowledge of Episys/Symitar and processing wires are preferred but not required.

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work extended hours in support of business needs
  • Ability to exercise excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks, and function as an integral part of a team
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations and analyze data
  • Ability to effectively prioritize work and meet deadlines under high-volume pressure
  • Ability to cross-train and perform any role assigned within the department
  • Ability to interact professionally with all personnel and members
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Ability to self-motivate with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
