Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Group Leader for our Field Service Engineering team in the UK. This hybrid role offers the flexibility of remote work combined with regular visits to our UK office in Bisley. As a Group Leader, you will be responsible for the operational and people management of our Field Service Engineering team, ensuring the delivery of exceptional service to our diverse client base, including hospitals, universities, research institutes, and pharmaceutical companies.
Key Responsibilities
- Take day-to-day responsibility for the Field Service Engineering team, overseeing operational activities and people management.
- Support the team with scheduling preventive maintenance (PMs) and repairs, acting as the first point of contact for emergency repairs.
- Manage customer complaints effectively, ensuring resolution and maintaining high customer satisfaction.
- Monitor operational KPIs to drive field service efficiency, analyzing root causes for repairs and non-same-day fixes to improve equipment quality and training.
- Handle day-to-day HR issues, performance management, and appraisals for the team.
- Oversee the operational management of a 3rd party partner, ensuring seamless collaboration.
- Continuously seek process improvements and conduct regular review meetings with our HQ team to discuss progress and strategies.
Qualifications and Skills
To qualify for this role, you must have:
- A Higher National Diploma (HND) in Engineering or a comparable field.
- At least 5 years of experience in equipment support for biotech instrumentation, with a proven track record of team management.
- Excellent communication and planning skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A self-motivated individual with the flexibility to travel, spending part of your week in the field and part in our UK office.
- A valid manual UK driving license.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience working in a similar industry or role.
- Knowledge of biomedical instrumentation and equipment support.
- Familiarity with HR practices and performance management.
