About the Role
As a Senior Systems Engineer at Home Depot, you'll play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining the technical infrastructure that underpins our business operations. You'll be part of a talented team of engineers who collaborate to drive technical innovation, ensure high availability, and optimize system performance. Key Responsibilities
- Delivery and Community Engagement (30%): Participate in educational activities, share knowledge, and contribute to the technical community through articles, instructions, and videos. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices in the industry.
- Learning and Professional Development (15%): Stay current with innovations and changes in the sector, and identify opportunities to improve tools, training, and safety. Participate in modern technical community activities and contribute to the development of new technologies.
- Planning and Analysis (20%): Analyze business trends and behavior data to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend technology solutions. Evaluate, design, and implement infrastructure, network, database, cloud, AI, and security architecture to meet business needs.
- Support and Maintenance (35%): Collaborate with product and project teams to understand needs and design infrastructure solutions. Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for existing systems and infrastructure. Participate in project planning, monitoring, and reporting.
Essential and Preferred Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- To be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Professional or educational experience as an Information Technology Engineer.
- Experience working as part of a collaborative, cross-functional, modern engineering team.
- Experience with troubleshooting and remediation in various fields of information technology.
- Familiarity with system and environment analysis, design, and optimization.
- Knowledge of debuggers, runtime analysis, library systems, compiled programming, and software update tools.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP and Azure.
- Experience supporting 24×7 retail operations.
- Experience with version control systems and CI/CD toolchain.
- Experience designing production systems, including infrastructure or code, high availability, and performance monitoring.
- Exposure to Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
- 1+ years of previous management experience.
Skills and Competencies

- Strong technical skills in systems engineering, infrastructure development, and maintenance.
