Key Responsibilities

As an Early Intervention Behavior Technician, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality ABA therapy to younger children on the Autism Spectrum. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-on-one (1:1) in-home Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) therapy to children with ASD
  • Collecting behavior and skill acquisition data during sessions to inform treatment plans
  • Conducting discrete trials, implementing behavior support, and treatment plans under the guidance of a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) Supervisor
  • Collaborating with your BCBA Supervisor to implement basic principles and teaching procedures of ABA therapy
  • Responding to the needs and requests of clients, their families, and supervisors in a professional and timely manner
  • Maintaining a goal-oriented approach and upholding professionalism in all aspects of your work
  • Arriving on time and being prepared for therapy sessions, with a flexible schedule to accommodate morning, afternoon, and evening shifts

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

To excel in this role, you'll need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or be working towards your degree in a related field (Psychology, Education, or Sociology)
  • At least 1 year of experience working with children in a 1:1 setting; experience in ABA or a related field is a plus
  • If no direct ABA experience, 1-2 years of experience as a Special Education Assistant, Paraprofessional, Direct Support Professional, Medical Assistant, or ABA Tutor in a school or home setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to demonstrate professionalism and empathy
  • A reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and clean driving record, as well as auto insurance to travel between clients

Skills and Competencies

To succeed as an Early Intervention Behavior Technician, you'll need:

  • A passion for working with children and families affected by ASD
  • Strong observational and data collection skills, with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Flexibility and adaptability in responding to the needs of clients and their families
  • Physical stamina to lift up to 35lbs, bend, kneel, squat, and respond quickly to the movements and behaviors of children
