Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver instruction to students in self-contained classrooms and small group settings, adhering to District and state-approved curriculum.
- Provide systematic instruction in English and Telugu, catering to the diverse needs of students.
- Conduct screenings to determine student eligibility for the bilingual program and interpret results to inform instruction.
- Set high academic expectations and hold students accountable for their progress.
- Develop and administer assessments to evaluate student progress, maintaining accurate records and devising intervention strategies as needed.
- Foster a collaborative environment by working closely with grade-level teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure student success.
- Communicate effectively with parents and students regarding progress, encouraging parental involvement in monitoring student growth.
- Participate in staff development and school improvement activities to stay abreast of best practices in bilingual education.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of curriculum and school objectives, ensuring alignment with state and federal requirements.
- Establish a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that promotes social and emotional development.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must possess:
- A valid Illinois Professional Educator License with a K-9 Bilingual or K-12 Bilingual endorsement.
- Fluency in Telugu and English, with the ability to instruct in both languages.
- A strong understanding of best practices in English Language Learning and bilingual education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
