Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver instruction to students in self-contained classrooms and small group settings, adhering to District and state-approved curriculum.
• Provide systematic instruction in English and Telugu, catering to the diverse needs of students.
• Conduct screenings to determine student eligibility for the bilingual program and interpret results to inform instruction.
• Set high academic expectations and hold students accountable for their progress.
• Develop and administer assessments to evaluate student progress, maintaining accurate records and devising intervention strategies as needed.
• Foster a collaborative environment by working closely with grade-level teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure student success.
• Communicate effectively with parents and students regarding progress, encouraging parental involvement in monitoring student growth.
• Participate in staff development and school improvement activities to stay abreast of best practices in bilingual education.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of curriculum and school objectives, ensuring alignment with state and federal requirements.
• Establish a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that promotes social and emotional development.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

• A valid Illinois Professional Educator License with a K-9 Bilingual or K-12 Bilingual endorsement.
• Fluency in Telugu and English, with the ability to instruct in both languages.
• A strong understanding of best practices in English Language Learning and bilingual education.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
