Key Responsibilities: Supporting Student Success
- Instructional Support: Assist licensed teachers in planning and implementing educational programs, including preparing instructional materials and supporting students with diverse needs.
- Classroom Environment: Help maintain a safe, healthy, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning.
- Clerical Duties: Perform various clerical tasks, such as record-keeping, data entry, and communication with parents and guardians.
- Student Support: Provide individualized support to students, including those with special needs, to help them achieve their academic goals.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with teachers, other instructional assistants, and school staff to ensure a cohesive and effective educational program.
Essential Qualifications: ESSA Compliance and Beyond
To be considered for this role, you must meet the ESSA requirements for paraprofessionals working in Title I funded schools. This includes:
- Having completed at least 2 years of study at an institution of higher education (60 credits or more).
- Obtaining an associate's (or higher) degree.
- Meeting a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrating, through a formal state or local academic assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics.
In addition to ESSA compliance, we require:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working with students, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
