Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Operations Manager and Coach to join our team in New Berlin, WI. This role is an exceptional opportunity for a highly motivated individual to lead and develop teams, drive financial performance and sales, and provide exceptional customer service. As an Operations Manager and Coach, you will be responsible for teaching, training, and actively listening to associates, touring stores, and providing feedback. You will communicate and collaborate with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilize technology, and implement business initiatives and merchandising strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates.
  • Tour stores and provide feedback (Tour-to-Teach) to ensure operational excellence.
  • Communicate and collaborate with all levels of associates regarding store operations, technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction.
  • Introduce and lead company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions.
  • Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards to store associates, following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model.
  • Manage and support customer service initiatives, ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved.
  • Drive the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating P&L statements, managing expenses, and developing action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates, including hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, and setting clear expectations.
  • Coordinate, complete, and oversee job-related activities and assignments, developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following essential qualifications:

  • 2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Ability to work overnight shifts, as required.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to teach, train, and develop teams.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on resolving customer complaints and issues.
  • Ability to drive financial performance and sales, with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement action plans to achieve business objectives.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset:

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
  • Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
  • General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, with responsibility for performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
