Key Responsibilities and Expectations

As an IT Intern in our Information Security team, you will be part of a dynamic team working across multiple security domains, including Identity Management, Governance Risk and Compliance, Vulnerability Management, Cloud Security Automation, and Security Operations. Your responsibilities will include:

• Gathering requirements for development and designing and testing of security solutions
• Security system maintenance, enhancement, and support of our security solutions
• Creating automation solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate security risks
• Participating in security awareness and training programs to educate employees on security best practices
• Conducting research and analysis on emerging security threats and technologies
• Developing and presenting reports and recommendations to stakeholders on security-related topics

You will work in a hybrid environment, with a combination of onsite and remote work, and will be expected to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Essential Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this internship, you must:

• Be able to commit to working the entire 13-week summer internship program (May 2025 – August 2025)
• Be willing to work from our Atlanta or Minneapolis-St. Paul office (as agreed upon during the interview)
• Have a 2.5 GPA or higher and have completed at least 2 years in a college program, with a degree emphasis in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field
• Possess strong analytical, leadership, written, and verbal communication skills, and a good work ethic
• Be able to accept diverse people, thinking, and consistently make safety and security, of self and others, a priority
• Have an interest in solving complex problems and be willing to invest time and energy to overcome roadblocks
• Possess an awareness of cloud technology, Software Dev Lifecycles, and/or PC hardware components and/or maintenance
• Be able to conduct yourself in a mature manner and be comfortable working in a business casual work attire environment
• Be interested in working for Delta Air Lines after graduation if presented with a full-time job offer opportunity

• Ability to digest large amounts of data and information and succinctly explain what can be learned from the data and how it can support decision-making
• Desire to learn leadership techniques and best practices in problem-solving and conflict resolution to enable innovation and progress on difficult-to-solve challenges
• Passion for working with Information Security and a strong interest in the field
• Experience with security frameworks, compliance regulations, and industry standards
• Knowledge of cloud security platforms, such as AWS or Azure
• Familiarity with security information and event management (SIEM) systems
• Experience with scripting languages, such as Python or PowerShell
