Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Inventory Control Associate to join our team, responsible for auditing finished products at our main warehouse and Ramdin Court warehouse locations. As an Inventory Control Associate, you will be responsible for investigating and identifying inventory discrepancies, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of product storage and shipments. You will report to the Inventory Management Supervisor and work closely with various departments, including Manufacturing, Accounting, and Global Sourcing.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit product movements from manufacturing to warehouses, including internal and national accounts
- Conduct audits of full pallets of picked product prior to shipment to ensure accuracy and quality
- Utilize the E1 system to investigate inventory discrepancies, perform daily cycle counts, and track non-conforming product, age of stock, and product movement forms
- Ensure finished products are stored in required locations and properly identified, including scheduled slot checks
- Function as a liaison between Manufacturing, Accounting, and Global Sourcing, assisting with additional tasks related to cycle count verifications and deliveries to customers
- Accurately enter inventory transactions into the E1 system, maintaining data integrity and attention to detail
- Utilize Excel spreadsheets to track error rates and other reports requested by management, analyzing data to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Communicate frequently with manufacturing and warehouse management regarding non-conforming product, including ballooning, damaged product, and other issues
- Assist with the execution of the inventory process at period end, determining the effect on the budgets of the Warehouse, Manufacturing, and Specialty Coffee Departments
- Complete other duties as assigned by management, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing priorities
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED, with a strong foundation in mathematics and problem-solving
- Certification to utilize a cherry picker, forklift, and pallet jack, with a focus on safety and operational efficiency
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
- RF unit experience, with preferential knowledge of DSI and E1 transactions, and a strong understanding of inventory management systems
- Proven ability for time management, prioritization, and organization, with a focus on meeting deadlines and delivering results
- Ability to work overtime on short notice, with flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
- Availability to occasionally travel out of town for outside audits of Westrock warehouses, with a willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in inventory control, logistics, or a related field, with a strong understanding of warehouse operations and management
- Advanced knowledge of E1 system, with experience in data analysis and reporting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve inventory discrepancies and other issues
- Experience with Excel spreadsheets, with the ability to create and manage complex reports and data sets
- Strong attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and quality in all aspects of work
