As a Local Coordinator, you will be an integral part of our team, working closely with regional staff to coordinate supervision and support for students and families throughout the duration of the exchange program.

Primary Responsibilities:
As a Local Coordinator, you will be responsible for the following key tasks:
- Recruit and Select Host Families: Identify and recruit potential host families in your area, ensuring they meet CIEE's requirements and guidelines.
- Match Students with Host Families: Work with regional staff to match international high school students with suitable host families.
- Build and Maintain Relationships with Local Schools: Develop and maintain relationships with local schools to facilitate student placements and ensure a smooth exchange experience.
- Provide Support and Guidance: Offer ongoing support and guidance to students and host families throughout the exchange program.
- Serve as a Liaison: Act as a liaison between local students, families, and schools, and CIEE's professional support staff.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
To succeed as a Local Coordinator, you should possess the following qualities and skills:

Preferred Qualifications:
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Experience in Education or Social Work: Previous experience working in education or social work, particularly with international students or youth.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in a second language, particularly those commonly spoken by international students.
- Community Involvement: Involvement in local community organizations or initiatives, particularly those focused on international education or cultural exchange.
Training and Support:
CIEE provides comprehensive training and support to ensure your success as a Local Coordinator:
- Initial Training: Thorough training on all aspects of the position, including placements, supervision and support, conflict mediation and resolution, sales/outreach, and intercultural training.
- Ongoing Support: Regular guidance and support from regional staff, including bi-monthly meetings and ongoing communication.
Compensation and Benefits:
As a Local Coordinator, you will receive compensation based on task completion, including:
- Placement Fees: $600 total for vetted host family and student placement, paid in two stages.
- Vetting Host Family: $100 for completing host family vetting process.
- Student Placement: $500 for placing an exchange student with a vetted host family.
- Supervision Fees: $200 per student per semester for providing ongoing support and supervision.
- Bonuses and Incentives: Opportunities for bonuses and all-inclusive travel incentives.
