The University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus is seeking a full-time Clinical Teaching Track (CTT) Faculty member in the Department of Bioengineering. This is an open-rank position, and we encourage applications from qualified candidates at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor levels.
About the Department of Bioengineering
The Department of Bioengineering at the University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus is a dynamic and growing program that spans the Denver and Anschutz Medical Campuses. Founded in 2010, the department has rapidly expanded its research funding portfolio, training programs, and commitment to translating discoveries and inventions to the clinic. Our faculty and students collaborate with various groups across the campus, including the Schools of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy, and the Graduate School.
Job Summary
As a Clinical Teaching Track Faculty member in the Department of Bioengineering, you will play a key role in leading, developing, and teaching courses across the undergraduate and graduate curricula. You will help integrate best practices in engineering education across the department and support design course instructors. The successful candidate will also be expected to conduct pedagogical research and help implement best practices in various aspects of engineering education, ethics, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and teach courses across the undergraduate and graduate curricula in bioengineering
- Support design course instructors and provide alignment of program objectives through the core curriculum
- Interface with multiple clinical clients on the Anschutz Medical Campus
- Conduct pedagogical research and help implement best practices in engineering education, ethics, and diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Contribute to the growth and development of the department's research funding portfolio and training programs
Qualifications
We are seeking candidates with a strong background in bioengineering, design, and teaching. The minimum qualifications for this position are:
Assistant Professor, CTT
- PhD or other terminal degree in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Medicine, or related discipline
- Significant experience in professional design and/or design teaching
- Teaching experience at the undergraduate level
- Experience in course and curriculum development
Associate Professor, CTT
- PhD or other terminal degree in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Medicine, or related discipline
- At least 5 years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level
- Record of course and curriculum development
- Demonstrated achievements in teaching excellence and/or scholarly work related to education
Professor, CTT
- PhD or other terminal degree in Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Medicine, or related discipline
- At least 10 years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level
- Record of course and curriculum development
- Demonstrated achievements in teaching excellence and/or scholarly work related to education
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels
- Experience advising and mentoring students
- Experience in course and curriculum development
- Scholarly research skills and experience
- Training in implementation of contemporary pedagogical research in the classroom
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal/human relations skills
- Strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate education and success
- Sensitivity to the needs of a diverse student population, including minoritized and international students
- Interested and committed to growing a new and innovative team-orientated program
- Experience teaching online and using online learning platforms

- Competitive salary range: $67,000 - $95,000 per 9-month academic year, depending on rank and experience
