Product Owner, Omnipod 5 (Remote/Flexible)
About the position
Responsibilities
• Serve as the product owner for the Mobile SWAT team, facilitating coordination and dependency management across other engineering teams.
• Define, maintain, and evangelize the vision and roadmap for internal tools supporting mobile app development.
• Gather and synthesize requirements from engineering stakeholders across mobile apps, Pod firmware, internal dev tools, and market expansion.
• Prioritize and manage product backlogs for two scrum teams, including well-written, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria that reflect user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
• Lead Agile ceremonies including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and product demos.
• Partner with QA to ensure frequent and effective validation of new tools and enhancements.
• Drive cross-functional alignment and coordination, especially between mobile engineering, QA, DevOps, regulatory, and localization teams.
• Increase awareness and visibility of the SWAT team's capabilities and roadmap across the broader technical organization.
• Ensure tools meet Insulet's security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
• Monitor and report on tool adoption, automation performance, and team impact to drive continuous improvement.
• Support rollout through training materials, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of work experience preferred.
• In lieu of a degree, 6 years of related experience with 3 years in medical device as a Product Owner will be considered.
• Prior experience as a product owner or product manager, ideally in consumer tech, digital health, or regulated software.
• Excellent backlog management, prioritization, and Agile delivery skills.
• Proven ability to collaborate with diverse technical teams and drive consensus.
• Effective communicator with a strong attention to detail.
Nice-to-haves
• Experience with app development, developer toolchains, or internal platforms.
• Familiarity with mobile app development lifecycle (iOS/Android), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
• Experience with software localization/internationalization workflows.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and SAFe environments.
• Understanding of FDA or ISO regulatory requirements for medical software.
