Job Summary

As a Nursing Instructor - Part Time at Concorde Career Colleges, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality education to our students across various settings, including classrooms, labs, clinical environments, and online platforms. Your primary focus will be on creating an engaging learning environment, assessing student performance, and upholding our institution's mission and core values. Key Responsibilities

  • Instructional Duties:
    • Teach classes as assigned, preparing comprehensive lesson plans and course materials.
    • Objectively assess students' academic performance and provide constructive feedback.
    • Utilize and monitor our learning management systems to ensure seamless delivery of course content.
    • Maintain the security and confidentiality of assessment tools and student documentation.
  • Student Interaction:
    • Foster a classroom environment conducive to learning, setting a professional tone and example.
    • Regularly inform Program Directors of student attendance, academic, or behavioral concerns.
    • Accurately maintain student records, grades, and attendance, adhering to our attendance policy.
    • Facilitate tutoring and makeup work as needed, ensuring student participation and progress.
  • Related Duties Outside the Classroom:
    • Stay updated on current standards in instructional methodology and participate in ongoing faculty development activities.
    • Attend workshops, seminars, orientations, staff meetings, and faculty meetings as scheduled.
    • Assist with preparations for graduation ceremonies and participate in student and campus activities.
    • Maintain classrooms, equipment, and technology, reporting any issues to the Program Director or Academic Dean.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:

  • Current and active RN or LVN license in the state of California.
  • One of the following: Bachelor's degree from an accredited school, valid teaching credentials, or completion of a minimum of one year full-time teaching in a state-accredited or approved RN or LVN program.
  • Minimum of 4 years of clinical experience as an RN or LVN within the last 5 years.
  • Meet all regulatory and corporate qualifications, including approval from the regulatory board.

While not mandatory, the following qualifications are highly preferred:

  • Teaching experience in a nursing program.
  • Experience with curriculum development and instructional design.
