About the Role: Polysomnographic Instructor - Substitute Faculty
As a Polysomnographic Instructor - Substitute Faculty at Concorde Career Colleges, you'll play a vital role in shaping the educational journey of our students. Your primary responsibility will be to provide high-quality instruction in polysomnography, ensuring that students receive the knowledge, skills, and support they need to succeed in this specialized field. You'll work closely with our faculty team to deliver engaging and effective lessons, both in the classroom and online, and contribute to the overall success of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instructional Duties:
- Teach classes as assigned, preparing lesson plans and course materials as required.
- Objectively assess student performance, providing regular and constructive feedback.
- Utilize instructional plans and approved student materials, supplementing as needed.
- Ensure the security of assessment tools and confidential documentation.
- Effectively monitor and utilize learning management systems.
- Student Interaction:
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Set a professional example, providing guidance and support to students as needed.
- Document student contact and progress, including attendance, grades, and feedback.
- Refer students to Program Directors or Academic Deans for additional advising or support.
- Related Duties:
- Participate in ongoing faculty development activities, including Continuing Education Units (CEUs) as required.
- Attend staff meetings, faculty meetings, and orientations as scheduled.
- Assist with preparations for graduation ceremonies and other campus events.
- Maintain classrooms and equipment, reporting any issues or concerns to the Program Director or Academic Dean.
Essential Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you'll need to meet the following essential qualifications:
- A minimum of three years of related practical work experience in polysomnography.
- A national credential in Polysomnography (CoA-PSG).
- Knowledgeable in course content and effective in teaching assigned subjects.
- Meets Texas (TWC) requirements, including an Associate Degree with 9 credit hours in the course area, or post-secondary education with a minimum of 900 hours of instruction and 4 years of practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Previous teaching or instructing experience in a related field.
- Experience with learning management systems and online education.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
