Key Responsibilities

  • Provide academic support to students enrolled in HCC math courses, including individualized tutoring and group instruction.
  • Develop and create workshops and review sessions to enhance student learning and understanding of mathematical concepts.
  • Assist student tutors as needed, providing guidance and support to help them effectively support their peers.
  • Deliver both in-person and online tutoring services, utilizing technology to facilitate remote support.
  • Work collaboratively with faculty and other support staff to identify areas where students need additional support and develop strategies to address these needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of student interactions and progress, using this information to inform instruction and improve student outcomes.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must meet the following essential qualifications:

  • Associate degree or two-year College equivalent (at least 60 undergraduate semester hours).
  • Two years of prior-related work experience in a field relevant to the position.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications are highly preferred:

  • Ability to provide academic support for all HCC math classes, including statistics.
  • Awarded Associates degree or higher.
  • Tutoring or teaching experience in the subject area.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Online tutoring experience, with the ability to utilize technology to facilitate remote support.
