Key Responsibilities
- Provide in-person academic support to 6th to 12th graders in our Academic Resource Centers across San Diego County, including locations in Carlsbad, Mission Valley, Kearny Mesa, Clairemont, North Park, Paradise Hills, East Village, Pacific Beach, La Jolla, and Southeast San Diego.
- Deliver academic coaching in mathematics subjects (pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry), American and World Literature, essay writing, and/or completion of graduation e-portfolio to students in need.
- Work with a small group of students (one to six per session) to tailor your support and ensure their academic success.
- Document all work performed into our tutoring database as required for payment and to track student progress.
- Commit to working part-time, six hours per day, Monday to Thursday, with flexible hours (9am-3pm or 8am-2pm) based on location.
- Maintain a strong commitment to completing the program from September 5, 2023, to April 26, 2024.
Essential Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of teaching, tutoring, or coaching experience in relevant subjects, including pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, American and World Literature, and essay writing.
- Ability to build strong rapport with students and be upbeat, engaging, patient, and motivating.
- Experience using videoconferencing platforms like Zoom and navigating online educational resources.
- High school diploma and at least 90-96 accumulated undergraduate credits.
- Genuine passion for learning and teaching.
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching credential (not required but advantageous).
- Life experience similar to the student population.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (candidates who are bilingual are encouraged to apply).

Compensation and Benefits
The hourly range for this position is $20-25 per hour, commensurate with your work experience, skills, and educational background. We're also offering paid sick leave, accrued at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked. Our compensation package reflects our commitment to recognizing the value of our team members.
What We Expect from You
