Job Overview
We are looking for a talented Medical Transcriptionist to interpret and accurately transcribe dictation by physicians and other healthcare professionals on a timely basis, meeting Ackerman Cancer Center standards. This is a remote position, but candidates must be based in Jacksonville, FL, and have the capability to establish a suitable workspace at home. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately transcribe dictation by physicians and other healthcare professionals using electronic records software
- Meet Ackerman Cancer Center standards for timeliness, accuracy, and quality of transcription
- Utilize strong organizational and self-management skills to prioritize tasks and manage workload
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with healthcare team members
- Stay up-to-date with current medical transcription guidelines and practices
- Maintain adequate hearing and vision acuity to process assigned work accurately and on a timely basis
- Provide an appropriate remote work-site that meets ACC standards for safety, confidentiality, electronic records storage and transmission, and daily/weekly production standards
Essential Qualifications
- 2+ years of successful Medical Transcriptionist experience in a clinical medical setting
- Proficiency in computer/word processing concepts and use, along with good knowledge of grammar, punctuation, editing, and spelling concepts
- Strong organizational and self-management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of current medical transcription guidelines and practices
- Adequate hearing and vision acuity to process assigned work accurately and on a timely basis
Preferred Qualifications
- Medical Transcription certification from an accredited transcription school or other professional certification organization
- 1+ years' experience in an oncology and/or radiation medical environment
- Proficiency with Mosaic EMR and Winscribe Speech Recognition Technology software
