Job Overview
The SMT Development Advancement and Methodology (GIS) group is responsible for delivering visionary thought leadership around the future of cloud, growing high-value situations and programs that will lead to new business categories and revenue streams, as well as driving business excellence across the division. As an Integrated Marketing Director, you will be responsible for collaborating across Government Marketing, Mission Engineering, and Azure Marketing to develop and implement plans and frameworks to drive early revenue and income from incubating products coming from Mission Engineering in Federal and commercial markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Go-to-Market (GTM) strategy and development of plans to launch incubating products and services that will primarily land in the US Government, including technologies like secret/top-secret cloud, advanced AI, and other exciting products coming from SMT's Mission Engineering group.
- Work with Mission Engineering and Development, Innovation and Strategy Product Marketing to understand product roadmaps, then collaborate with partner teams in Government Marketing, Mission Engineering, and Azure Marketing to ensure business, marketing, and ecosystem readiness and excellence as incubating products transition from private preview to public preview to general availability.
- Collaborate with the Government Marketing team to envision, build, and bring to life compelling multi-touch campaigns with Federal agencies and partners with the overall objective of driving perception of Microsoft as a leader in innovation.
- Create, maintain, review, and own scaled and Account-Based Marketing (ABM) engagement plans and customer journeys that support thought leadership and revenue generation goals for SMT, ensuring that all engagement points and communications are infused with key messaging and stories provided by result marketing managers related to business areas.
- Identify market needs based on business objectives and customer pain points to engineer the end-to-end content required to support customer journey, comprehensive of email comms and sales and marketing enablement materials, ensuring messaging is aligned with crafted stories.
- Collaborate with social/digital lead to advise on social assets and timing required to support media plan.
- Create assets or work with agencies on asset creation.
- Drive ongoing executional excellence by leading regular data-driven planning and optimization discussions to drive deep understanding across marketing and seller insights, data on Marketing Engagement Index (MEI), and data from social/digital, influencer/community, and experiential engagement.
- Work with Business Planning and Marketing Operations teams to define appropriate account segmentation, identify and track engagement against key accounts within these segments.
- Collaborate with Government product marketing managers and others to integrate thought leadership and business need messaging into events or other engagement opportunities.
- Work with SMT Product Marketing and Business and Marketing Operations team to ensure SMT niche unit marketing strategies are in alignment with sales needs.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in marketing, with a focus on cloud innovation and digital transformation.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies that drive business growth.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of the cloud computing market, including technologies such as Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.
- Experience working with government agencies and partners, with a deep understanding of the federal market.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- An advanced degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- Experience working with Microsoft products and technologies, including Azure, Dynamics, and Office 365.
- Knowledge of marketing automation platforms, such as Marketo or Pardot.
- Experience with data analysis and reporting tools, such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Certifications in marketing, such as HubSpot or Google Analytics.
