About the Role of a National Admissions Advisor

As a National Admissions Advisor, you will be the first point of contact for many prospective students, and your role will be to advise and support them as they navigate the admissions process. You will be responsible for communicating the benefits and features of our university, as well as our flexible program options, to prospective students. Your goal will be to ensure that students have all the information they need to make an informed decision about their education and to provide them with the support and guidance they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Professionally assist prospective students through the admissions process, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations, school policies and procedures, and accrediting standards and requirements.
  • Conduct telephone interviews and email correspondence to identify student prospects, determine their educational needs, concerns, and interests, and develop a rapport with them.
  • Partner with departments outside of Admissions to ensure the delivery of a high level of service to every student, including ensuring enrolled students submit required documents to begin coursework and assisting students through the orientation process.
  • Consistently operate within the school's expected behaviors, including Execution, Communication/Feedback, and Professionalism, and ensure compliance with applicable University policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with the admissions team to achieve qualitative and quantitative university objectives and values, and contribute to the development of a positive and supportive team culture.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change. You will also need to be highly organized, able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines, and have a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service.

  • High school education or equivalent required; college degree from an institution of higher learning accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (or international equivalent) preferred.
  • One or more years of experience in sales and/or customer service preferred, with post-secondary higher-education admissions experience highly desirable.
  • Computer proficiency, including experience with Windows and Microsoft suite, and the ability to manage multiple browsers and monitors simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays, and to maintain a flexible schedule to meet the needs of prospective students.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience working in a call center or admissions environment, with a strong understanding of the admissions process and the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and the needs of non-traditional students, with the ability to tailor support and guidance to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Experience with CRM software and other admissions-related technology, with the ability to learn and adapt to new systems and processes.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate with students from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
