Job Overview

As an Early Intervention Behavior Technician at Key Autism Services, you will play a vital role in our mission to empower children and families affected by autism. You will work closely with our team of Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) to implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy and counseling programs, tailored to the unique needs of each child. Your primary responsibility will be to provide one-on-one in-home therapy sessions, using evidence-based techniques to promote skill acquisition, behavior support, and treatment plans. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one in-home ABA therapy sessions to children with autism, under the guidance and supervision of a BCBA
  • Collect behavior and skill acquisition data during sessions, to inform treatment plans and drive progress
  • Conduct discrete trials, implement behavior support, and treatment plans, in accordance with the child's individualized plan
  • Collaborate with BCBAs, families, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care
  • Be responsive to the needs and requests of clients, their families, and supervisors, demonstrating empathy, understanding, and a commitment to exceptional service
  • Arrive on time and be prepared for therapy sessions, maintaining a high level of professionalism and organization
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development, to enhance your skills and knowledge in ABA therapy and autism support

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or working towards your degree in a related field (Psychology, Education, or Sociology) preferred
  • Experience working with children for 1 year in a 1:1 setting, or equivalent experience in a related field (e.g., Special Education Assistant, Paraprofessional, Direct Support Professional, Medical Assistant, Autism Experience, Teacher's Assistant, or ABA Tutor)
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Personal means of transportation, with a reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and clean driving record
  • Physical ability to lift up to 35lbs, and perform activities that entail fine and gross motor skills, bending, kneeling, squatting, sitting on floor level or in a chair, or standing for periods of time

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification, or willingness to pursue certification
  • Experience using a Cognitive Behavior Intervention Plan with youth and families
  • Knowledge of ABA principles and practices, with a strong understanding of autism and its effects on individuals and families
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including morning, afternoon, and evening hours, to accommodate the needs of our clients
