Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Online Adjunct Instructor to teach Art in the World and Workplace, with a focus on Competency-Based Education (CBE) assessment. As a CBE Assessment Adjunct Faculty member, you will play a crucial role in grading student submissions, providing feedback, and ensuring that students demonstrate mastery of the course material. This is a remote position, offering a fantastic opportunity to work with a dynamic team and make a tangible difference in the lives of students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Grade student submissions and provide feedback using detailed rubrics
  • Focus on the grading process, with minimal direct communication with students
  • Assign grades and provide feedback to students in a timely and efficient manner
  • Collaborate with the Academic Dean and other faculty members to ensure consistency and quality in the grading process
  • Participate in faculty meetings, programmatic meetings, and committee work as agreed upon and/or designated by the Dean
  • Complete a minimum of six (6) Rasmussen Educational Units (REUs) annually or two (2) REUs per quarter for each quarter you teach (whichever is less) between the combined areas of Teaching Development and Development in Discipline

Essential Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Art, Art History, Master of Fine Arts, or a related field with an emphasis in Art
  • Teaching experience preferred, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of study
  • Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with students, leadership, and peers
  • Excellent written communication and strong verbal communication skills in the English language
  • Regular access to a computer with the following system requirements: Windows XP or greater, Microsoft Office 2010, and an internet connection

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Competency-Based Education (CBE) and assessment
  • Knowledge of art history, theory, and criticism
  • Familiarity with online learning platforms and technology
  • Experience with curriculum development and implementation
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
