Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Online Adjunct Instructor to teach the Structure & Function of the Human Body course. As an adjunct faculty member, you will play a vital role in creating a dynamic and supportive learning environment that fosters academic excellence, community enrichment, and service to the public good. Key Responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with students and provide feedback on their performance throughout the course
- Be available to students via phone, email, and individual appointments for questions and academic assistance
- Respond to Dean/University staff in a timely manner regarding performance, student issues/concerns, or items needed for faculty file/accreditation needs
- Demonstrate professionalism, use of technology, and content expertise in the classroom
- Create a dynamic and active classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning
- Develop and implement curriculum and assessment for the Structure & Function of the Human Body course
- Provide student support and outreach to ensure student success
- Attend faculty meetings and participate in committee work as agreed upon and/or designated by the Dean
- Complete a minimum of six (6) Rasmussen Educational Units (REUs) annually or two (2) REUs per quarter for each quarter you teach
Essential Qualifications
- Master's degree in Anatomy & Physiology or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of study (teaching experience preferred)
- Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with students, leadership, and peers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language
- Regular access to a computer with Windows XP or greater, Microsoft Office 2010, and an internet connection
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare or patient care
- Professional licenses/certifications required for specialized schools (Health Sciences, Nursing)
- Active and unencumbered license to practice in the state of residence
